PSG easily dispatched Strasbourg in Ligue 1 and Paredes played his part in the victory. The Argentine contributed with a spectatular free kick goal. The way he struck the ball left the opposition goalkeeper no chance.
Making the most of the free kick positioned just outside the box, the player struck the ball with the inside of his right boot. He directed it so that the ball started from outside the target, curling inside the top corner of the goal and making it inevitable that it would finish in the back of the net.
It was his first goal for more than a year. He hadn't scored one since 29th January 2020, when he struck against Pau FC in the French Cup. Since then he has concentrated more on his distribution rather than goal-scoring.
This spectacular goal was also his first of the season. It could help him convince his fellow Argentine coach to include him in PSG's upcoming matches, which will be no picnic. The most important of which - the Champions League clash against Bayern.
