UEFA are currently looking into the Parisian club to see whether they have breached any of the sport's Financial Fair Play rules. The result of the investigations is expected to come to light in the next few weeks.
'L'Equipe,' who have said that we may even hear a verdict in the coming days, also reported that PSG are at risk of some serious sanctions.
One potential sanction is the exlsuion from European competitions which, given owner Nasser Al-Khelaifi's emphasis on winning the Champions League, would be a disaster for the club's development. Furthermore, PSG could see themselves forced to sell one of their lucrative stars: Neymar or Mbappe.
The Brazilian's name has been increasingly linked with a move to Real Madrid following his injury in February. A move that would give him a return to La Liga and would surely right some of PSG's financial wrongs.
With regards to Mbappe, the youngster was a target for Real last summer but opted for a move to the capital of his native France. Should 'Los Blancos' come knocking again, they might not be as easy to turn down for the Frenchman.
