Abner Vinicius will play for Olympique Lyon next season. The young Real Betis defender, who has enjoyed little playing time in Manuel Pellegrini's starting line-ups, has attracted the attention of scouts from the French side, who, according to Fabrizio Romano, have reached an agreement with the Andalusian side for the transfer of the Brazilian by 1st July this year. The figures of the deal are not known at the moment.
The Italian journalist has leaked that the defender has already agreed personal terms with the French side, so he looks forward to a change of scenery. It will be another chapter in his breakthrough in the big leagues, where he landed a couple of years ago thanks to the Benito Villamarin outfit paying 7 million euros to Athletico Paranaense, where he played after training at Ponte Preta.
Considering that he is under contract until 2029 in Spain and that his market value has doubled since his arrival in Spain, the amount the French side have put on the table has to be quite appealing. The Andalusians will lose a player of present and future, but they will have plenty of financial leeway to provide Pellegrini with a guaranteed replacement in the transfer window in three months' time.
Olympique Lyon have been very active in recent transfer windows. In winter, they have already signed Adryelson - from Botafogo for 3.6 million -, Lucas Perri - Botafogo, 3.3 million -, Malick Fofana - Gent, 17 million -, Gift Orban - Gent, 12 million -, Nemanja Matic -Rennes, 2.6 million -, Orel Mangala -Nottingham Forest, 11.7 million - and Said Benrahma - West Ham United, 6 million -.
