Just a week after the historic Berlin derby, Hertha returned to the Olympiastadion on 9th November, 30 years since the fall of the Berlin Wall, to face Leipzig in the matchday 11 encounter.
The images were spectacular. And the thing is Berlin knocked down the wall again in front of a packed stadium. The club recreated some of the scenes from that day and did a performance with the fall of the wall which divided Germany between 13th August 1961 and 9th November 1989.

During the act, banners were unfurled from the stands like "there's no wall in Berlin" or "united against the wall, united for Berlin" which was written on the wall before the match. In addition, Hertha Berlin released a special kit which lasted just a few hours in the shops after being launched in the middle of October.
The design of Hertha's kit, made by Nike, is a repeat of what the club wore in the 1989-90 season. In addition, on the back, it said Berlin and the number 89 written in a style which looks like a wall full of graffiti.
