He has been teasing fans about what football team he is going to make his football debut for, with South Aftican club Mamelodi Sundowns suggesting they were the lucky destination, but the wait is finally over.
Through his official Twitter account, former sprinter Usain Bolt has revealed that he will captain the World XI set to play in the 2018 Soccer Aid match for UNICEF on Sunday 10th June.
Speaking about the match, Bolt said: "It's my dream to make it as a professional footballer. To play against some of football's biggest legends is going to be remarkable".
He will battle it out with singer Robbie Williams, the captain of the England side, for the illustrious bragging rights whilst also raising money for an important charity.
Since its launch in 2006, it has raised £24 million to help disadvantaged children.
The game is unique in that it brings together celebrities and former world-class footballers with legends such as Ronaldinho and Zinedine Zidane taking part in previous matches, and no doubt this year's will be no expection.
