Chris Wilder described new signing Rhian Brewster as "one of the country's hottest properties" as Sheffield United completed a deal to sign the 20-year-old thought to be worth £23.5m.
The signing brings an end to one of the Summer's longest-running transfer sagas with the Blades boss describing him as their "number one target".
Brewster made a name for himself at the Under-17 World Cup in India in 2017 where he won the golden boot, scoring eight goals and carrying England to the title. Liverpool promptly snapped up the Chelsea youth player and he remained in the under-23s for the rest of his time at the club, only ever making 4 first-team appearances.
He suffered a serious knee injury in 2018 which ended his season but Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp insists that he is now "100%".
Brewster's best professional performances came at the end of last season whilst on loan at Championship side Swansea City. He scored 11 goals in just 22 appearances and proved a key player for the Welsh team in the post-lockdown run-in that saw them eventually finish in a playoff spot in sixth.
Sheffield are yet to score so far this campaign, with key Striker Lys Mousset sidelined due to injury and others unable to make an impact.
Brewster could make his debut at the Emirates on Sunday, or may have to wait to face his former employers Liverpool at Anfield on 24th October.
