The countdown towards Serie A's resumption has begun. On 20th June, the action will get back underway after an agreement between the government and the Italian FA (FIGC). The protocol for returning to football has been approved.
Everything is set in Italy for football to resume. Or at least, everything is planned so that that becomes a reality in less than a month's time. The authorities have reached an agreement and on 20th June, the Serie A will finally resume.
The protocol proposed by the footballing authorities has now received the green light from the health authorities, but teams will continue to be quarantined if a player tests positive for COVID-19.
The Coppa Italia semi-final second legs will be held on 13th June while Serie B will restart on the same day as Serie A.
The intention of Spadafora, the Italian sports minister, is for the Coppa Italia semi-finals and final to be played between 13th and 20th June before the league resumes.
