The Premier League confirmed at 6pm UK time (7pm CET) that the Premier League have agreed to resume the season on 17th June.
As reported by media outlets earlier on Thursday, Aston Villa v Sheffield United and Man City v Arsenal will be played on Wednesday 17th June so that everyone has played the same number of matches. The first full round of action will be between 19th and 22nd June.
The shareholders also agreed that all 92 games would be shown on TV and split amongst the current broadcasting partners in the UK: Sky Sports, BT Sport, BBC and Amazon Prime.
"Today we have provisionally agreed to resume the Premier League on Wednesday 17 June. But this date cannot be confirmed until we have met all the safety requirements needed, as the health and welfare of all participants and supporters is our priority," Premier League chief executive Richard Masters began.
Masters confirmed that all games would be held behind closed doors and that all stakeholders would continue to be consulted ahead of a return to actin.
"Sadly, matches will have to take place without fans in stadiums, so we are pleased to have come up with a positive solution for supporters to be able to watch all the remaining 92 matches. The Premier League and our clubs are proud to have incredibly passionate and loyal supporters. It is important to ensure as many people as possible can watch the matches at home," he continued.
The kick-off times for the rest of the season have also been confirmed and each game will have its own slot. The weekend rounds of action will begin with an 8pm game on a Friday, followed by a quadruple header on a Saturday (12.30pm, 3pm, 5.30pm and 8pm). Then, there will be another quadruple header on a Sunday (12pm, 2pm, 4.30pm and a new slot of 7pm). The action will round off with an 8pm match on Mondays.
For midweek rounds, there will be two slots a day like in the Champions League and Europa League. The matches will be at held at 6pm and 8pm UK time across Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
