Premier League clubs will be able to extend the contracts of the players who finish next June 30, as a way to finish the season.
"An agreement has been reached so that clubs and players can mutually extend contracts beyond June 30 until the end of the season," the Premier said in a statement.
Several players like Chelsea's Willian and Spurs' Jan Vertonghen finish their contracts with their clubs on June 30, and now may end the season if they reach an agreement.
"What we have decided is to ensure that the clubs can finish the season with the same team they had available before the season was suspended," said Richard Masters, the league's executive president.
The clubs have until June 23 to reach an agreement with the players.
