The Italian club announced the news in a statement on their official website. It read as follows: "AC Milan announce that they have agreed to purchase Kryzystof Piatek from Genoa. The Polish forward has signed a contract that will keep him at Milan until the summer of 2023.'
Milan began the season with experienced forward Higuain, but will end the campaign with the division's revelation in their ranks. Kryzystof Piatek is officially a new 'Rossoneri' player after the agreement between the two parties.
After the league match between Genoa and Milan on Monday, in which the forward was ruled out due to suspension, the clubs met on Tuesday to agree on a fee for the purchase of the player, which reportedly consisted of Genoa requesting a fee of €35 million. The player landed in Milan on Wednesday, passed the relevant medical examination, and immediately put under the stewardship of coach Gennaro Gattuso.
In fact, the striker could well make his debut for Milan against Napoli this weekend. Of course, a lack of training with his new team mates should not be an issue for the Pole; as his 19 goals in 21 matches in all competitions, suggest that he could step into any side and find the back of the net.
