Goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa has become the first Mexican to move to Europe since the conclusion of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. His new club has yet to be confirmed, but everything seems to suggest it will be Salernitana.
'Club America thank Guillermo Ochoa for his commitment and dedication to defending America's colours with so much passion and leadership for more than 10 years in the first team," the most successful club in the country, with 13 league titles, wrote in a statement.

At the age of 37, the goalkeeper, who played for Malaga and Granada, will return to Europe after three and a half years away. The World Cup in Qatar was his fifth.
Ochoa left Europe in 2019 when he moved from Standard Liege in Belgium to America, the club he came through the academy at.
As well as in Belgium, Ochoa played for Ajaccio in France (2011-2014) and at Malaga (2014-2016) and Granada (2016-17) in Spain.
The goalkeeper's contract at America had expired so he will join Salernitana on a free. They currently sit 12th in Serie A.
"I'll always be grateful to the America fans and board for their unconditional support," Ochoa said in his farewell message.
Mexico had reached the last 16 in their last seven World Cups, but that run ended in Qatar because they came third in Group C, a group Argentina won.
'Memo' (Ochoa), Club America will always be your home. Thanks for forming part of those 106 years of history and greatness. We'll always remember you fondly. Until we reunite, fly high and keep flying our flag and Mexico's," America said in a press release.
