Serie B side SPAL in Italy officially announced the signing of Belgian footballer Radja Nainggolan until the end of the season. The coach there is Daniele de Rossi, who he played with at Roma for five seasons.
"SPAL announce that midfielder Radja Nainggolan has a contract at the club until 30th June 2023 with automatic renewal for the 2023-24 season providing certain conditions are met," the Italian club said.
At the age of 34, the Belgian international was a free agent after joining Antwerp, who he last played for on 16th October.
Nainggolan returns to the country where he has been for almost all of his career. He made his Serie A debut at the age of 22 with Cagliari. He was there until January 2014 when he signed for Roma.
After four and half seasons in the Italian capital, he signed for Inter. There, he was twice loaned out to Cagliari before moving to Antwerp for a season and a half.
De Rossi's SPAL are 15th, very close to the relegation play-off zone and seven points off the promotion play-offs.
