Nemanja Matic is now a Roma player. The Italian club officially announced the signing of the former Manchester United player, who he spent the last five seasons with.
After 189 appearances, four goals and 10 assists, the 33 year-old Serbian midfielder has ended his stay at Old Trafford. He leaves on a free transfer after his contract ended.
The Serbian international lost his starting spot at the English club, playing 32 games this season, but only starting 18 of them. In the Premier League, he has been given minutes in 23 games and registered four assists.
Matic arrives on a free to Roma, a team which has been monitoring the ex-Chelsea player in recent weeks. The veteran comes to Rome as per Jose Mourinho's request.
The Portuguese manager knows the Serbian international very well because he coached him during his time at Manchester United, where he was able to see Matic's quality on the football pitch with his own eyes.
