Everton and Barcelona have confirmed that Yerry Mina will leave the Catalan club and join up with Everton after the two sides agreed a deal.

In a statement, the Catalan club said: "FC Barcelona and Everton have reached a deal for the transfer of Yerry Mina. The English side will pay €30.25m with a further €1.5m in add ons.

"The deal includes a buy back clause.

"FC Barcelona would like to publicly express its thanks to Yerry Mina for his effort and hard work and we wish him the best of luck for the future."

Mina leaves for Everton after only six months in Catalonia, but a combination of factors have made his future at Camp Nou untenable.

Barcelona need to free up spaces for non-EU players after the arrivals of Malcom, Arthur and Arturo Vidal, while an impressive World Cup campaign put Mina in the shop window.

“It is important that the Club want to fight for something,” Mina told 'evertontv'. “This is why I am here.

“I have watched the Premier League for a long time. It is the best league in the world. This is a great opportunity for me and I am looking forward to competing here.

“I know about Everton’s players and I look forward to being able to play with my new team. I have spoken a lot to the coach and I know his passion for Everton and determination to be successful. I am also determined to do my best for Everton.”
