OFFICIAL: Man Utd complete signing of Maguire

The transfer which was being talked about all summer in England has finally been made. Harry Maguire is finally a Manchester United player and the news has been confirmed by both clubs.
The centre-back has signed for the Red Devils on a six year deal with the option of extending it by another year. The fee is reported to be 80 million pounds. That makes him the most expensive defender ever beating the 75 million Liverpool paid to Southampton for Virgil Van Dijk.
Solskjaer's side had shown interest in the player for a long time, but talks had stalled over Leicester's high asking price. United had originally put forward a bid for 65 million, before finally upping it to 70 million. The Mancunians had told Leicester to take or leave that offer, but in the end, they gave in and paid the 80 million Leicester asked for.
Harry Maguire made 76 appearances for the Foxes in his two seasons at the club after moving from Hull City in summer 2017 and scored five times. In that time, the 26 year-old has also become an England international and he played at the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

Harry Maguire spoke to Man United's website and admitted the move was too good to turn down: "I am delighted to have signed for this great club. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at Leicester and would like to thank everyone at the club, and the fans, for their fantastic support over the past two seasons. However, when Manchester United come knocking on your door, it is an incredible opportunity," he said.
"It’s clear to see that Ole is building a team to win trophies. I am now looking forward to meeting my new team-mates and getting the season started," the defender concluded.
Solskjaer also expressed his delight at signing Maguire by calling him a "great reader of the game", as well as highlighting his composure on the ball and presence in both boxes: "Harry is one of the best centre-backs in the game today and I am delighted we have secured his signature. He has a great personality and is a fantastic addition to the club. I would like to welcome Harry to Manchester United and we are looking forward to working with him as we prepare for the new season.”
Leicester City also confirmed the news, thanking Maguire for his time at the club as well as saying it was a club record sale.
