Jorginho has picked Chelsea over Manchester City, with his move to Stamford Bridge from Napoli confirmed in the wake of Maurizio Sarri's appointment as head coach on Saturday.
The midfielder had been widely tipped to be on the verge of a move to Pep Guardiola's side for weeks, but Chelsea have stolen in during the latter stages and snatched him from City's grasp.
The Italy international has signed a five-year contract with the Premier League side, joining up with Sarri, the man under whom he flourished at Napoli.
The Brazil-born player, who was tempted by the prospect of living in London, is reportedly costing Chelsea in the region of £50m.
He will wear the number 5 shirt, and will help Sarri to transition Chelsea into a new era of more attacking football.

"I am absolutely ecstatic to be here at Chelsea," Jorginho said of the move, speaking to Chelsea's club website. "It is not easy to become part of such a big team so I am very, very happy. I am excited to play in such an intense league, for a team that gives everything to play and win."
Club director Marina Granovskaia pointed to his quality and relationship with Sarri as factors behind Jorginho's signing. "We are delighted Jorginho has chosen to join Chelsea," she stated. "He was one of the most coveted midfielders in Europe and will become an important member of the playing squad."
"He has demonstrated his quality working under Maurizio Sarri and we are convinced his signing will help bring further success to Stamford Bridge."
