OFFICIAL: Germany to host Euro 2024

Germany will host Euro 2024 after seeing off a rival bid from Turkey, UEFA has confirmed.
Germany hosted the World Cup in 2006, but has never staged the Euro as a unified country: West Germany hosted in 1988.
The bid sees matches spread over 10 stadiums with capacity for a total of 2.78 million spectators - 290,000 more than Turkey - giving Germany a financial edge from potential ticket revenue.

The 17-member UEFA Executive Committee of football's European governing body in Nyon, awarded the tournament to Germany.
"The DFB (German Football Association) bid is of high quality and comfortably meets overall expectations when it comes to political aspects, social responsibility, sustainability and human rights," the Executive Committee stated.
Euro 2024 is to mark the return of the European Championship to a single-host format, after the pan-European tournament in 2020, which is meant as a celebration of its 60th anniversary.
The German city of Munich is to be among the venues to host Euro 2020 matches, with Berlin's Olympiastadion also set to feature heavily.
