Carles Perez will play for the rest of the season at Roma. The winger, after a meeting held with Quique Setien, looked for a club which has ended up being the Italian capital. The cost of the loan deal is one million euros.
Barcelona said that Carles Perez has been loaned out to Fonseca's side and that Roma are forced to buy him for 11 million euros subject to him meeting a series of requirements. If all the conditions are met, Carles Perez will sign for Roma until 30th June 2024.
The agreement between both clubs includes a series of additional clauses related to his performances, Roma said. These clauses could add up to a maximum of 4.5 million euros.
"I'm really happy and I cannot wait to start training with the rest of my teammates. I know I'm leaving a great club like Barcelona, but I'm joining another one in Roma," Carles Perez confessed.
Carles Perez moves to Italy after 13 appearances for Barca. "We are enormously satisfied with the arrival of Carles to Roma. He learnt his trade in one of the best youth academies in Europe and has been playing for a club with lots of talent," the Roma executive director, Guido Fienga, explained.
Perez will wear number 31 and could make his debut in Roma's next Serie A fixture which is against Sassuolo this weekend. Another Spaniard in Gonzalo Villar has also joined the side.
