The goalkeeper faced increased competition for his place in the team following the summer arrivals of Sergio Rico and Fabri, and looked to be out of favour at the beginning of the season.
However, since then he has fought his way back in to the team and has impressed so much that he has been included in the last two England senior squads by Gareth Southgate.
Such form has meant that the 'Cottagers' have rewarded him with a contract extension to ensure that he will stay with the club until summer 2021.
"It's something I've been wanting for a long time now. I'm really happy, it's a proud moment for me and my family, and something that I've worked towards for a long time." the shotstopper told Fulham's official website.
"The fans are a massive reason for me wanting to stay, I know how much they support me and how much they're behind me, and it's fantastic to see that.
"I know we've had a tough start to the new league, but they've continued to show their support and I'm pretty sure going into Saturday they'll be up and ready for the game."
