He was pictured arriving in Seville on Tuesday afternoon, posing with a Real Betis flag and now the transfer has become official.
The former Barcelona and Borussia Dortmund player has signed a permanent contract with the La Liga club, which will keep him at the Estadio Benito Villamarín until 2023 meaning he will be a long-term signing for Quique Setien.
Bartra comes with exceptional international pedigree after being capped 13 times for the Spanish national team and making 103 appearances for Barcelona during his spell at the club where he won 5 La Liga titles and 2 Champions Leagues.
The 27-year-old arrives at Betis due to falling out of favour at Dortmund. His prominence in the team decreased dramatically following the departure of Tuchel and the arrival of Stoger almost sealed his exit.
He had made only eight Bundesliga appearances this season, which would not be nearly enough to cement his place in Julen Lopetegi's squad for the World Cup in Russia.
