OFFICIAL: Barcelona sign Joao Mendes, Ronaldinho's son

The saga continues. After being seen in the offices of the Camp Nou with his Dad, Joao Mendes has become a new FC Barcelona player. A lot of people won't know who he is just from his name, but that surely changes when his father's name is announced, as he is the son of Ronaldinho.

Yes, you read that right. The Brazilian legend's son has signed a contract with the Catalan side, just like his Dad did, who defended the 'Cule' colours between 2003-04 and 2007-08.

Joao Mendes is a striker and at 18 years of age he has joined Barcelona's youth set-up after several weeks training with the academy and after a brief spell at Cruzeiro.

With the company of director Joan Soler and director of Youth Football Jose Ramo Alexanco, Joao Mendes signed the contract, just like Barcelona have shared online.
