Getafe are gradually improving their squad for the 2021-22 campaign. After signing Vitolo, Stefan Mitrovic and Macias, they have now got Carles Alena, a player the club know very well.
The midfielder had been loaned out to them for the 2020-21 season. Now, Alena is back, but for good this time. Getafe have confirmed that the player is theirs and that he has signed until 2026.
Barca gave details on the signing. "The club have reached an agreement with Getafe for the sale of Alena. Barca will get 50% of any future sale of the player, an option to buy back the footballer as well as first right of refusal on any offer," Barca said in a statement.
The Catalans also wrote a message to thank Alena: "FC Barcelona would like to thank Carles Aleñá for his commitment and dedication and wishes him all the best for the future," the club said.

Getafe also confirmed the news and gave him the welcome he deserves. They are keen for him to put on a Getafe shirt again.
"He came through the Barca academy and after joining last January, Alena returns. His presentation will be on 12th July at the Coliseum Alfonso Perez at 12:00," the club wrote in a statement.
Since he arrived at Getafe last January, Alena made 22 appearances for the team from the south of Madrid, starting 15 of them. He scored twice and gave two assists. His performances persuaded the club, who had been wanting to get him permanently for a fair while.
