Sergino Dest is a new Milan player. Serie A's Lega, the section of their website that lists the latest transfers, was the first source from which to obtain official confirmation. Barcelona loaned the full-back, who did not count for Xavi Hernandez, for one season, the current one, with a 20 million euros buyout clause.
This figure does not appear in the records of the Serie A, but it does appear in the information of the specialised journalist Fabrizio Romano, who was also aware of other issues being dealt with by the offices of the Catalan club. In the case of the American, an opportunity is opening up for him to prove his quality.
This will be his first experience in Serie A. He has already played in the Eredivisie, where he excelled with Ajax, which helped him move to the big leagues. After two seasons as a 'Cule', he failed to earn a regular starting place, and so now he is leaving.
Dest had taken part in some pre-season matches with Barcelona. He faced Manchester City, Pumas, Juventus, Real Madrid, Inter Miami and Olot. Even so, he did not manage to change his coach's mind, who prefers other players he already has in his squad... or who are about to arrive.
