"Paris Saint Germain are pleased to announce the arrival of Ander Herrera Agüera. He comes from Manchester United where his contract had run out and the Spanish midfielder has signed a contract which lasts until 30th June 2024," the club said in a statement.
Although it was a open secret and even this Thursday, you could buy Herrera's PSG shirt on the club's website. The transfer was not made official until this afternoon.
The midfielder made a name for himself at Athletic Bilbao where he played for three seasons after arriving from Real Zaragoza. At San Mames, the midfielder played 128 games, scoring 11 goals and handing out 19 assists.
In 2014, Manchester United signed Ander Herrera, who mixed the good with the bad in his five seasons at Old Trafford. As well as winning the 2017 Europa League, the man from Bilbao played 189 matches for Man Utd in which he scored 20 goals and gave 27 assists.
At 29, Ander Herrera goes to the Parc des Princes for free after his contract ended on the 30th June and he will replace Adrien Rabiot in an attempt to help PSG finally win the Champions League.
