Martin Odegaard is one of the main reasons why Arseanl are enjoying such a rich vein of form. Not only has he scored five goals and made three assists this term, but he has also played a pivotal role in other areas of the pitch.
Arteta holds the Norwegian in high regard and he has featured in the starting lineup of most of Arsenal's games this season. So much time on the pitch has allowed Odegaard to show off his skills which are unrivaled by most.
An example of this occurred in the build up to the Gunners' first goal against Watford. The ex Madrid man produced a back heel which left spectators speechless. It was so impressive that legends Paul Scholes and Yaya Toure could not believe that he had the ability to produce such a skill.
"I think from my point of view he wants to control it. I think he got lucky with it, just touched it for Saka who was running behind the back of the defender", explained Man City legend, Toure. Man United legend Paul Scholes shared the same opinion: "I think from one angle it does look like he meant it, from this angle I think he's a little bit lucky, I think he's just wanting it to let it run across his body, it catches his heel and plays in Saka. We're not sure if he means this, Odegaard to Saka, but if he does, give him credit, it's a lovely finish."
