Olivier Giroud's future has changed dramatically in the last 24 hours. The French striker, who few thought would stay at Chelsea after Inter Milan's insistence, now seems closer to signing a new contract in West London.
According to the English paper 'Daily Mirror', the striker has apparently told the Chelsea sporting director and his team that he is waiting for a new contract. The French player has apparently reconsidered after having more minutes under Frank Lampard.
At 33, the attacker thinks that he still as a lot of football left in him and he is clear that he can offer Chelsea a lot. He will have to improve his stats though because he has scored just two goals. That said, he has only played 598 minutes.
The Frenchman's contract expires at the end of the season so if Chelsea want to keep the player, they will have to gert a move on. Lazio are also lying in wait in case the opportunity arises.
