Nottingham Forest announced on Friday Jesse Lingard's departure, the club's highest paid player, after a disappointing first season.
Lingard joined Nottingham Forest last summer from Manchester United, where his contract expired, but with the Tricky Trees he has failed to score or assist in 17 Premier League games.
The 30-year-old English midfielder has only played 3 games since December, due to various injuries. His biggest contribution came in the FA Cup, where his team reached the semi-finals, and he scored 2 goals and provided 2 assists.
Lingard, who came through the youth ranks at Manchester United, made more than 200 appearances for the Red Devils and between goals and assists contributed to more than 50 goals.
He was the highest paid player in the squad, with a salary of over £100,000 per week (120,000 euros), although his contract was only for one season.
Along with Lingard, Andre Ayew, Cafu, Jack Colback, Jordan Smith and Lyle Taylor all leave Nottingham Forest out of contract, while Keylor Navas returns to Paris Saint-Germain, Dean Henderson to Manchester United and Renan Lodi to Atletico Madrid.
