"It was a difficult moment. How could we lose like that... I still ask myself. But it was all our fault," said the midfielder, who has now joined the rest of his France teammates ahead of the international friendlies.
Matuidi gave his version of events: "Of course the comeback is my worst memory in a PSG shirt. When you come away from the first leg 4-0 up you never think that can happen. But unfortunately the worst outcome happened," he commented.
"We did not know how to approach the match properly. Maybe with too much fear. At that moment, it was more of awe than anything else," said Matuidi, who refused to comment on the controversial performance of referee Aytekin.
"A lot of elements came into account but I will keep this to myself because I prefer to look forward. It was one of the worst moments of my life," the Frenchman said about a night that has already gone down in history.
