Norwegian Espen Eskas to referee Barcelona v Borussia Dortmund

Norwegian referee Espen Eskas has been appointed to officiate Wednesday's Champions League quarter-final first leg between Barcelona and Borussia Dortmund.

Eskas will be assisted on the sidelines by his compatriots Jan Erik Engan and Isaak Elias Bashevkin, the fourth official will be Rohit Saggi and the VAR will be handled by Dutchmen Dennis Higler and Clay Ruperti.

Born in Oslo 36 years ago and an international since 2017, he was in charge of Barcelona's 5-2 win over Red Star Belgrade on 6 November and Borussia Dortmund's 3-0 win over Sporting Lisbon on 11 February.

His last club international was Rangers-Fenerbahce (0-2) in the Europa League and his last international match was Croatia-France (2-0) in the Nations League.
