'No one wants to leave' - Yamal on Fermin rejecting Chelsea move

Lamine Yamal is once again training with the Spanish national team ahead of the start of the European qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup, which will take place in the USA, Mexico and Canada. The Barcelona winger is also joined by his Barcelona teammates Pedri, Gavi, Cubarsi, Dani Olmo, Ferran Torres and Fermin Lopez, the latter of whom could have been Yamal's former teammate had he not rejected an offer from Chelsea in the final days of the transfer window.
In fact, the 18-year-old winger gave an interview to TVE in which he explained how the rumours about a possible move by the 20-year-old midfielder to Stamford Bridge were received in the Barcelona dressing room.
"We were joking with Fermín about moving to England… but he's happy at Barcelona. No one wants to leave. We asked him about that bid from England but Fermín said he’s happy here, he had no plans to leave," said Yamal.
In fact, Fermin himself explained in a recent interview with 'Mundo Deportivo' that he never intended to leave Barcelona, with whom he plans to honour his contract until 2028. "My priority has always been Barcelona. This club is my dream since I was a kid," he said.
