No Arsenal win at Anfield since 2012 – when Arteta was still on the pitch

Arsenal are on a 15-game winless streak at Anfield, a historically difficult venue for the Londoners. The Gunners' last victory at Anfield came on 2 September 2012, in a Premier League match.
On that afternoon, the team then managed by Arsene Wenger won 2-0 with goals from Lukas Podolski and Santi Cazorla. Interestingly, Arsenal's current manager, Mikel Arteta, was part of that team and played the full 90 minutes of the match.
In that same match, the current Arsenal coach was shown a yellow card. Since that victory, the balance at Anfield has clearly tilted towards Liverpool with seven wins and eight draws.
The drought has now stretched for more than twelve years, making it one of Arsenal's most enduring and unresolved issues in the Premier League. It is particularly striking that the last victory came when the current Gunners coach had not yet hung up his boots.
Breaking this streak could become a symbolic challenge for Arteta, who is now seeking as a coach what he never achieved as a player: winning at Anfield.
