Raphael Varane is having a great time. After making his 200th La Liga appearance for the club, the French central defender has a reason to celebrate.
This Saturday, it has been nine years since Varane arrived at the Santiago Bernabeu from Lens when he was just 18. He did so on 27th June 2011 and he did not know he would become one of the most important players for the club.
Since then, the World Cup winner has played in 313 competitive matches and scored 15 times. He has played 37 times this term, all of them as a starter. He has three goals and an assist to his name.
Real Madrid have celebrated Varane's anniversary on social media, with a post which makes reference to the 17 titles won by the French international during his nine years at 'Los Blancos'.
