Arsenal could go through a change in ownership, currently run by the American Stan Kroenke. It seems that from the Nigerian government a new investment muscle could arrive to take the club out the difficult financial situation they are going through.
We are speaking about Orji Uzor Kalu, a Nigerian senator of 60 years old who is the country's press tycoon. There he has made a great fortune as the owner of newspapers such as 'Daily Sun' and 'New Telegraph', and has already invested part of this in football.
There he did it with Enyimba FC and has always been a fervent supporter of the sport. Now, Orji Kalu has assured on his Twitter profile that he is willing to buy 35% of Arsenal's shares to return them to winning trophies.
"As the pillar of sports in Africa, I am considering an investment in football & I will buy 35 percent stake in Arsenal FC. Our target is to lift the Champions League & EPL...", the businessman said on his social media.
He also said that he would invest in Enyimba again reaching a collaboration agreement with Arsenal "to create a platform for more of our professional players seeking for international exposure. A win-win outing for all parties".
