Villarreal striker Nicolas Jackson, scorer of two of the three goals that gave his side a 3-1 win over Celta last time out, told 'EFE' that he works hard in training and that, fortunately, it is paying off on the pitch.
"I'm very happy with the way things are going. As well as scoring in the last few games we've been able to win them, which in the end is the most important thing for everyone. I'm working every day, I do it with an eye to being able to show on the pitch what I train and work on every day. And so far it's working out", he stressed.
After the latest victories, Villarreal have strengthened their position in fifth place and are fighting to reach fourth, which gives them the option of playing in next season's Champions League, as they are only five points behind Real Sociedad with six games left to play.
"Every game is a final for us, we want to be at the top and play in the Champions League or Europa League. We know that we have to be at our best in all the remaining games," he said.
The player admitted that, after his failed move to Bournemouth in the winter transfer window due to injury, he had a "tough time". "I'm happy now. I was injured, but now I'm playing and enjoying it. Everything happens for a reason, and I'm happy to be able to take advantage of this opportunity".
