While no one doubst that talents of the Brazil skipper when it comes to playing the game, many have doubted his sporting attitude after there were several occasions during the World Cup where he seemed to exaggerate the pain he was feleing after challenges made by opponents.
One of the most controversial examples came in the quarter-final clash with Mexico, where Neymar reacted to Mexican full-back Miguel Layun standing on his ankle by writhing around on the floor for a considerable time in agony, and then being outraged when the opppositoin player was sent off.
Having been knocked out of the World Cup by a resolute Belgian performance at the quarter-final stage, Neymar had to return to his native Brazil a lot earlier than expected. And now, the anguish of being knocked out of the biggest tournament in world football has been added to by people on social media mocking the PSG star's theatrics.
The 'Neymar challenge' has swept across social media as people try to imitate how they think the winger reacted to challenges during the World Cup.
An entire team of young players decided to take part in the challenge during a training session, all collapsing to the floor in a heap in unison and then rolling around on the floor to imitate the most expensive plater in history.
There is no doubt that the player himself will not be happy at all with this new phenomenon.
