Neymar and Barça still have a pending appointment... in court

In the 21st-century football world where madness and surrealism have taken over, Neymar remains king. 

After almost rejoining the Catalans during the summer's biggest transfer controversy,  September will see the Catalan club and Neymar go from potential reconciliation to a new disagreement, this time of the legal kind.

The Brazilian sued the club for an issue with a renewal bonus dating back to 2016, which led to a response from the entity, who also reacted by filing a lawsuit against him.

It seems unthinkable that two parties who were on the verge of agreeing again a few days ago will now fight face-to-face for several million euros on the 27th of September. 

Barcelona asks Neymar for 75 million euros for breach of contract and the Brazilian wants 26 million from Barça plus 10% interest.

This lawsuit was always present in the negotiations and was one of the demands of the Blaugrana team to undertake his signing. But of course, Neymar did not make his anticipated comeback, the lawsuit was not withdrawn and it seems that everything continues its course.

As 'AS' reports,  the trial has already been postponed twice and, to increase the surrealism surrounding Neymar, Barcelona wants Al-Khelaïfi to be one of the witnesses, which the PSG leader refuses to do. 

The lawsuit stems from a 40 million euros bonus the Brazilian got after his renewal with Barcelona. A few months later, he went to PSG and Barcelona, who had already paid him 14 million, did not receive the remaining 26 million.

While some say that there has been a breach of contract, the player maintains that he deserves the full bonus, which would mean they still owe him money. As expected, it's Neymar's lawyers that will deal with the issue in question while he continues to deal with his own fair share of problems, such as coming back to a team and squad he clearly has no intention of being a part of.
