Newcastle target Sesko in statement move to replace wantaway Isak

The Magpies are prepared to present a concrete proposal to the Slovenian forward as part of an ambitious recruitment drive.

Benjamin Sesko has a gentleman's agreement in place with Leipzig that could see his price tag reduced for a select group of clubs. For those considered "special" by the player, the fee could drop to a range of €70-80 million, with an additional €5-10 million in performance-related add-ons.

Newcastle are fully aware of the financial package required and view him as the ideal replacement for Isak, who is reportedly open to a move away from St James’ Park.
