Newcastle delay open-top bus parade after Carabao Cup glory

The Magpies' long wait for silverware ended with a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Liverpool, with local hero Dan Burn and Swedish striker Alexander Isak finding the net.
Since the final whistle, jubilant scenes have unfolded on both the banks of the Tyne and the Thames, with fans, players and staff all joining in the celebrations. Now, attention has shifted towards bringing the trophy back to Newcastle and continuing the festivities with supporters.
However, the eagerly anticipated open-top bus parade will have to wait. The international break, which sees many players called up to their respective national teams, has made it difficult to arrange the event in the near future. With several key figures away for the next fortnight, and others departing for warm-weather training in Dubai, the parade is more likely to take place at the end of the season.
Meanwhile, the English Football League has reportedly confirmed no restrictions are preventing Newcastle from taking their newly won Carabao Cup trophy with them on the flight to Dubai.
