Football could see the light at the end of the tunnel on 5th June. The newspaper 'AS' published a report with the new work scenario, and that would be the framework which the main European federations are working on.
On that day, as long as the disease has subsided and the authorities and governments had given their approval, the matches would return, albeit behind closed doors. Spain would have the priority of finishing the eleven remaining games, apart from European competitions.
However, on Sunday the players from the top two tiers in Spain released a statement in which they assured that they wouldn't play again while it wasn't 100% safe.
It would be the same plan of action that has been marked in the Premier League, according to the same reports. In fact, UEFA are now apparently working on the preparation of a new calendar, to be presented on 18 May, and with the absolute priority for leagues.
Furthermore, director of competitions, Giorgio Marchetti, is apparently also working on a 'final-four' format to resolve the Champions and Europa League trophies.
Ceferin sent a letter to the 55 member federations appealing for unity and urging the competitions to be resolved this course on the park, even if it had to be completed in the summer. Hence his anger with Belgium and the threat of expelling their clubs from continental tournaments.
