Bayern Munich's two captains Manuer Neuer and Thomas Muller have reportedly asked the club's board for the continuity of coach Thomas Tuchel, with whom they had agreed to terminate their contract at the end of the season, according to 'Sky'.
Other reports claim that several players are defending Tuchel despite the problems this season, which has been the first in more than 10 years to end without silverware for Bayern. Among the players cited as defending Tuchel are Harry Kane, Eric Dier, Jamal Musiala and Leroy Sane.
Bayern have failed to find a successor for Tuchel after Xabi Alonso, Sebastian Deisler, Julian Nagelsmann and Ralf Rangnick all turned down the chance to take the reins at the Bavarian club.
This has been compounded by Crystal Palace's refusal to let Oliver Glasner leave. Bayern's intention was to pay 18 million euros for his release but the English side have asked for 100 million euros.
Bayern are currently still scouting the market for a coach and according to several reports the possibility of Hansi Flick's return has also been ruled out.
