"Nagelsmann's sacking? We couldn't change the whole side"

Julian Nagelsmann is now history at Bayern Munich. The club opted to sack him and put Thomas Tuchel in his place.
Bayern's Advisory Committee President Oliver Kahn explained why Bayern sacked Julian Nagelsmann in Thomas Tuchel's presentation as new manager by saying that "The numbers don't reflect our ambition. There was no consistency in results", he said.
They're words which Sporting Director Hasan Salihamidzic supported. "I know it hasn't been a popular decision, but it was something we had to do", he said to 'Sport 1'.
The board realised that they couldn't change the squad and therefore that the one to face the chop had to be the manager: "We can't change the whole team. We had a top manager, but the results weren't what we were hoping for".
Tuchel's first game in charge will be against Borussia Dortmund, a club he managed in the past. During his presentation he said it was "a great challenge" to manage Bayern. He highlighted that it was "an honour to be here".
