Called upon to play a more important role following the sale of Sergio Ramos and the possible departure of Raphael Varane, Nacho Fernández was in the headlines in Real Madrid's pre-season clash against Rangers.
However, unfortunately for him, the defender didn't grab the spotlight for a great performance, but for being shown a red card in a friendly match...
Nacho was booked at the end of the first half for a clear obstruction to prevent a Rangers counter-attack. It was yellow card which the defender did not even protest.
In the second 45, when the game was heading towards its final stretch, Nacho lost his mind and went in high with his studs showing as he was challenging for a loose ball.
The centre-back gave one of the opponents a nasty kick to the thigh and the referee gave him a second yellow card, although the tackle itself could have been deserving of a straight red.
