Tragedy in Guinea. This Thursday was one of the worst days of the year after news broke of a bus crash involving Etoile de Guinee, a team belonging to the second tier of the Guinean league.
The accident took place in Tumbo, near Mamou. The club were travelling to play a match against Karfamoriyah until the vehicle skidded and crashed into a tree which was at the side of the read, 'AFP' reports.
According to 'La Gazzetta', there were 27 people on the bus: 22 players, four members of the coaching staff plus the driver. The accident ended up with nine people dead and 18 injured.
Among the dead was Naby Keita's of Liverpool's brother. His name is Almamy Keita.
"We were going down a road when the bus' brakes gave way. There were three curves and the driver managed to get by two, but not the third and he lost control," the coach, one of the survivors, explained.
