Mourinho: Pogba can be next Scholes, Gerrard or Lampard

Mourinho is confident that Paul Pogba can emulate the legendary trio who are considered as three of the best midfielders of the Premier League era. 

The Manchester United boss worked for a number of years with Frank Lampard at Chelsea and finds himself at a club that still has not found a true replacement for Paul Scholes. 

However, Mourinho thinks he has found that man in Pogba. 

"We have number 10s, we don't have what I call a second midfield player, who is strong enough, powerful enough, but has creativity and scores goals," he told 'BT Sport'.

"Lampard, Scholes, Gerrrard - the second player who sometimes scores more than the number 10 but defends like a number six. They're difficult to find. These three unbelievable players represent that".

Pogba could become a Manchester United player as soon as today, as the midfielder allegedly underwent a medical at Old Trafford yesterday.
