Mourinho: Messi is the God of football

"The God of football made the difference. Of course Barça has a good team, phenomenal players, but that player is absolutely incredible," acknowledged the Portuguese manager with regards to Leo Messi in an interview for 'Russia Today'.

In the interview, Mourinho joined the whirlwind of media praise that the Argentinian wizard has received for yet another incredible Champions League performance in which his goals helped put Liverpool to the sword.

Having suffered against Messi as manager of Chelsea, Inter Milan and Real Madrid, Mourinho did not hesitate to sing Messi's praises.

Meanwhile, the 56 year-old also spoke highly of Liverpool's performance at the Camp Nou: "Liverpool were brave in their approach. I don't think in the last 20 years many teams in the Champions League beat Barcelona in possession".
