David De Gea did not have the best of days in the FA Cup semi-final. Chelsea ran over Manchester United and the player was criticized for his performance on some of the goals.
His former coach at Old Trafford Jose Mourinho criticized him again, claiming his new contract was not deserved. The Portuguese was specifically questioned about De Gea's role in Manchester United, which is why he made such statements.
Mourinho admitted that the Spanish international is "very good", but that he was "lucky" to get a big contract with the 'red devils' when he signed his last extension.
These words are reminiscent of those said by the Portuguese coach in September 2019. "De Gea is a good goalkeeper, but I don't understand why Manchester United were under so much pressure at the moment to offer him such extraordinary conditions," he said.
De Gea is one of the highest paid players in the entire Premier League. The goalkeeper earns 12.9 million euros a year, which has led to criticism from Mourinho.
