The results on the fourth day of the World Cup didn't go the way that most people were expecting. The two favourites for the tournament, Brazil and Germany, both dropped points in their opening games of the tournament, against less-favoured sides.
Germany fell to a surprise defeat at the hands of Mexico in the 17:00 kick-off, a Hirving Lozano goal sinking the champions 0-1. Then, in the evening kick-off, a resilient Switzerland held Brazil to a 1-1 draw.
Speaking with 'Russia Today', Mourinho said that Sunday was an "amazing day for football". That being said, he made it clear that he wasn't worried about the two giants' chances of making it out of their groups.
"It's probably good for them to put their feet on the ground," he said. "They will qualify, and the best of these top teams will come in the knockout."
Jose believes their pedigree will shine through. "I think they all know how good they are," he stated. "I think they all know they are going to improve."
"It's probably good for their countrymen also to keep calm."
