Silvio Berlusconi is prepared to keep his word. Last December, the former Italian prime minister and owner of AC Monza promised his players "a busload of prostitutes" if they managed to beat one of the country's big teams.
Well, Monza beat Juventus 2-0 away to Juventus in Serie A on Sunday, a result that has revived Berlusconi's old and controversial promise, who, at the time, defended himself against criticism of his words: "It was just a dress room joke".
But what Berlusconi said in a joking tone has been taken by many as completely serious, as he himself explained in a statement published by the well-known Italian media 'La Repubblica'.
"I have already received calls from over 100 people, asking me to honour my commitment," explained the Monza owner, who managed to take all three points against Juventus thanks to goals from Ciurria and Mota in the 18th and 39th minute respectively.
