A straight swap deal involving Alexis Sanchez and Henrikh Mkhitaryan is very close to completion, after the Armenia international was left out of Manchester United's squad for Saturday's 1-0 win over Burnley.
As revealed by 'Sky Sports', Mkhitaryan travelled to London on Saturday and is due to undergo a medical with the Gunners in the next 48 hours before sealing his switch to the Emirates.
The aforementioned source also reported that, as of Sunday morning, the paperwork on every aspect of deal has yet to be signed off. The possibility of the deal falling through is still very much real, but is highly unlikely.
Alexis Sanchez and Henrikh Mkhitaryan both reportedly said their goodbyes on Friday with the exchange deal set to be officially announced soon. Barring any last minute mishaps, the Sanchez-Mkhitaryan transfer saga will come to an end after weeks of negotiations.
