Arsenal and Roma confirm Henrikh Mkhitaryan will play on loan at the Italian club.

Arsenal revealed in a club statement that Henrikh Mkhitaryan will play at the Stadio Olimpico until the end of this season. No type of compulsory purchase clause is mentioned.

Roma point out in their statement that they are paying three million euros to have him on loan plus another 100,000 euros based on whether certain targets are achieved.

The Armenian player, who burst onto the scene at Borussia Dortmund and made the move to the Premier League thanks to Man Utd, will play in Serie A. He does so at the age of 30 and scoring nine goals in 59 appearances for the Gunners.

Mkhitaryan was signed in January 2018 together with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, but he did not perform at his best at Arsenal despite having some good performances and showing signs of his quality.

Roma have also announced that they have signed Nikola Kalinic on loan from Atletico Madrid so they have made two signings to bolster their attack. The Armenian arrived in the Italian capital this Monday,

"It's a great opportunity for me to start a new chapter at this great club," Mkhitaryan said.
